Loreen Beier (Dipl. Soz.), born 1983, studied sociology at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg, from where she graduated in April 2008. During her course of studies she focused on empirical research methods and statistics, as well as demography.
Since June 2008 she has been working as a research scientist at the Institute for Family Research at University Bamberg (ifb).
Her research interests include quantitative and qualitative research methods, the comparative analyses of welfare states and their effects on families, especially gender issues and the compatibility of work and family, paying specific attention to particular differences between the new and old Länder in Germany.
