Dr. Teppo Kröger is a social policy and social work researcher who has been involved in a number of Nordic, European and global research projects. Together with Jorma Sipilä, he co-ordinated the FP5 SOCCARE Project, and currently (2008-2011) he is leading an international project on the reconciliation of paid employment and care responsibilities under the title WOCAWO. He is a member of the RECWOWE FP6 Network of Excellence and the REASSESS Nordic Centre of Excellence in Welfare Research.
His research has focused on comparative study of work-family reconciliation and social care systems, covering childcare as well as care services for older and disabled people.
In addition to his publications in Finnish, he has (co-)authored/edited several books in English (including Social Work and Child Welfare Politics: Through Nordic Lenses, Policy Press 2010; Overstretched: European Families Up Against the Demands of Work and Care, Blackwell 2005; Families, Work and Social Care in Europe, European Communities, 2004; Comparative Research on Social Care: The State of the Art, European Communities 2001), and published widely in international journals (including Journal of Social Policy, Social Policy and Administration, Critical Social Policy, International Journal of Social Welfare).
