The Department of Sociology and Social Research (DSRS) was founded in January 1999 with the creation of the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Milano Bicocca. The Department's excellence has been recognized in Italy's first national evaluation of research (CIVR 2006) in which it ranked first – among medium and alrge research structures - in the political and social studies area with a rating of 0,91 and with 55% of its output deemed excellent. One of the focus area of its research is transformations in family models in terms of demographic aspects, the role of and relations between gender and generations, aging processes. Role within FAMILYPLATFORM: DSRS is responsible for Existential Field 2: Familial Development Processes. Staff involved in FAMILYPLATFORM: Carmen Leccardi is Professor of Cultural Sociology at University of Milan-Bicocca. Miriam Perego is Doctor in Sociology and Methodology for Social Research at University of Milan-Bicocca. Sveva Magaraggia is Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Sociology and Social Research at University of Milan-Bicocca. |
