The European Commission is the executive body of the European Union. The body is responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the Union's treaties and the general day-to-day running of the Union.

The European Commission funds FAMILYPLATFORM, through its 7th Framework Programme under the theme of Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities (DG Research).

Role within FAMILYPLATFORM:

The European Commission is represented on the Advisory Board, which provides supervisory and consultative advice on the scientific quality and policy relevance of the FAMILYPLATFORM.

Staff involved in FAMILYPLATFORM:

Emanuela Tassa - Socio-economic Analyst at the European Commission (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities) focusing on demographic trends and comparison of family policies across the EU. She is also responsible for many activities within the framework of the European Alliance for Families.
